Frequently Asked Questions

Which patterns can I import?

Text-based crochet and knitting patterns that you own or are authorized to use, as a PDF or as photos of the pages. Do not import a pattern you do not have the right to use.

Why does the app ask about US or UK terms?

The same abbreviation can mean different stitches in US and UK terminology. You confirm which convention the pattern uses before the sections are organized, so the rows are read the way the designer wrote them.

What are source anchors?

Each organized section points back to the place in your imported pattern that it came from, so you can check the original wording instead of trusting a rewrite.

Does it work with symbol charts?

Symbol-only charts are not automatically organized into sections. You can still import them and use the row counter manually.

How does the counter behave?

The row counter runs on your device. It saves your position automatically, supports undo, and restores where you were when you reopen the project.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

No. StitchCount runs on iPhone and iPad only; there is no Apple Watch companion.

What is free and what needs credits?

The app is free to download and includes a small number of starter credits. AI section organizing uses credits, so AI use is limited to the credits you hold. Local Pro is a separate one-time unlock for local features only; it never adds AI credits.

What leaves my device?

The pattern text recognized from your PDF or photos is sent to The Sky Bringup AI service to organize the sections. Your counter position, projects, and imported originals stay on your device.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Go to Settings > Apple ID > Purchase History on your device, or contact Apple Support directly.
